CBD FAQ
IS CBD LEGAL?
Yes! Purchasing CBD is federally legal as long as it doesn’t contain more than 0.3 percent Delta-9 THC. CBD derived from marijuana, is not legal federally. While hemp-derived CBD is federally legal in all 50 states, some states do have additional rules around the type of products their residents can consume. For those reasons we do not ship to Idaho, Iowa, Nebraska, or North Dakota.
WILL CBD GET ME HIGH?
No. CBD won’t make you feel high. CBD is extracted from plants with very low THC content and in order to be sold under the 2018 Farm Bill it must contain less than 0.3 percent Delta-9 THC.
WILL THIS SHOW UP ON A DRUG TEST?
CBD shouldn’t show up on a drug test. However, many CBD products contain trace amounts of THC which can be stored in fat cells and gather over time and everyone reacts to the products differently. This statement includes full spectrum as well as broad spectrum 0.0% THC products. In rare cases, using CBD might lead to a positive drug test. If you are concerned at all we recommend you speak to your healthcare professional for a better understanding. My Relief LLC assumes no responsibility for failed drug tests.
CAN I TAKE THIS WITH MEDICATION?
You can but it’s important you discuss this with your primary physician to verify that it won’t adversely affect your current medical regimen. Please ensure you have spoken with a healthcare professional to vet out your concerns before beginning your CBD journey.
HOW DO I STORE THE PRODUCT?
You should store your CBD in an upright position in a place with stable temperature and away from extreme light, heat, or moisture. Pantries are best. You can refrigerate your product but it is not required.
ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS?
While mild, some reported side effects by CBD users include dry mouth, change in blood pressure, light headedness, or drowsiness. It’s important that you consult your physician if you experience significant side effects.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I TAKE?
Determining the right amount of CBD to consume is more art than science and different for everyone. It takes a little time and effort to find your sweet spot and even that could change occasionally depending on your external environment. CBD dosing is a highly individual process and we suggest you start slow and chart your progress.
WHEN WILL I FEEL IT?
We understand everyone’s comfort level around CBD is different which is why we carry a variety of products. Below are not recommendations but rather comments on our personal and customer experiences with the products. For very quick relief inhaling CBD may be most effective, via either a vape pen or pre-rolled product. For effects within a few minutes, oil drops under the tongue may be useful as capillaries under the tongue allow for quick absorption. Topical products (salves, balms, and lotions) vary from person to person and offer very targeted relief. CBD in food products is likely to take longer—30 minutes or more—to be absorbed into your system.

How do I find a quality CBD company?
Though federally legal, the CBD industry is still largely unregulated and thus not every brand operates as ethically as it should. Here’s a checklist of things to ensure you’re buying from a quality brand:
Tested and Transparent:
Look for a CBD brand whose products come with a Certificate of Analysis (COA). This lab report should be from a third-party lab that has tested the viability and safety of the CBD product for sale. While online shopping, the COA should be easy to find on the company’s website and clearly tied to the product in question. For example, all My Relief Health CBD COA’s are housed on our website and linked to in the main navigation, and all products contain QR codes that will direct you to this page anytime day or night. As the industry matures and the FDA eventually steps in, the need to conduct your own ingredient check should lessen; but for now, it’s a must.
Variety:
Look for a CBD brand that offers a range of products that can work both individually and as a cohesive routine. For example, the My Relief Health CBD product line includes a variety of ingestible and topical CBD, including products that can be taken daily for a cumulative wellness effect, or as-needed for an immediate boost or to help in acute moments of distress.
CBD Content:
A quick product comparison will show you that the CBD content of products on the market varies drastically, and even some claiming to be “extra strength” may actually contain very little CBD. When shopping, remember to consider the ounces as well as the total CBD content: 1000mg of CBD in an 8oz. topical is not as strong as 1000mg in a 2oz. topical. Both are beneficial in different ways, you must simply decide which is the best fit for your needs!
Brand Reputation:
Scrolling CBD forums and review pages may not be the most fun way to spend your time, but it can definitely save you from wasting money on an inferior or unsafe product. Check those Google reviews and see what others have to say, as well as how the company responded. If confronted with an issue, was there a resolution or did they ghost the reviewer? Did the company stand by their product? Offer timely returns in instances that could not be resolved with further education or guidance? You know the drill!
